It was another record-breaking year and quite possibly
the biggest water event in California at the 7th Annual
Paddle For Fame at the Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor on
Saturday, June 29, 2013. A confirmed World Record of
813 paddlers connected (another 137 not connected) in
the Delta waters while braving the record heat of 105-de-
grees. They beat last year’s record of 621. Bryan Dove
first came up with the idea of setting a paddle boat re-
cord, while his wife Amanda Dove (Delta Sun Times) and
Mike Guzzardo (www.GuzzardoHomes.com) executed the
event. Year two, Guzzardo officially named it Paddle For
Fame and a legacy was born. This year’s major event
sponsors included Intero Real Estate Services, Land-
mark Mortgage, Marples & Associates Realtors, Dis-
covery Bay Chamber of Commerce, Discovery Bay Lions
Club, KKIQ Radio, Delta Sun Times, Captain Morgan's
Delta Adventures, Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor and Mike
