T
hat's the thinking amongst the new
Brentwood “Delta Digital Camera
Club” members. The club was initiated in
July, 2012 – a collaboration between Brent-
wood resident Wayne Francis and myself. Af-
ter learning we were practically neighbors at
another club’s “meetup,” we joined forces and
created an East Contra Costa club.Wayne is an
experienced “meetup” organizer and founder
and I coordinate event details.
Today, the 150+ members, a mix of ama-
teur and professionals, meet for monthly ses-
sions, workshops and shoots. Meetings feature
speakers discussing such topics as camera basics,
equipment, software, or speci c types of pho-
tography including landscape, travel, sports, stu-
dio, macro, wildlife and more.
The shooting activities are largely in the lo-
cal area with an emphasis on no or low-cost
to members.Whether it is visiting a wetlands
preserve in Antioch, street photography in the
Mission District, visiting the historic town of
Locke, or a studio light workshop, participants
have a wide variety of photography outings
from which to choose.
Meetings are held at REI's Community
Room at the Streets of Brentwood Shopping
Center.Visit our website at www.meetup.com/
Delta-Digital-Camera-Club.
Membership is free. Sign up and you'll re-
ceive notices of the club's upcoming and previ-
ous o erings; click on a past shoot and see what
others have posted to gain an understanding of
the experience.
If you love digital photography, join this
group of active members. You'll have plenty of
opportunities to create images that express your
unique experiences to others.

Mt. Diablo revealed itself with a dusting of snow as emerging fog lifted on Feb. 20 this year as several
photographers were awaiting this picturesque scene. The image was taken near the John Marsh historic house in
